Shattered Rose He Held On Tight
Chapter 175 Dying Isn’t so Scary
“You investigated me?”

Claudia used one arm to pin Paula’s chest, the other holding a sharp shard of glass. The jagged tip hovered from Paula’s thin neck up toward her calm face, then dangled above her wide eyes.
“Then you should know I’m crazy. Nuts don’t care about logic or consequences.”
Claudia moved the glass closer–an inch from Paula’s eye. At last, Paula’s fake calm cracked, and a flash of panic showed.
“You probably think you’re safe because your people are outside. Since I chose to act, I already knew I might not walk out of here tonight. Dying isn’t so scary, right?”
Thunder rolled outside. Claudia’s pretty face twisted into something fierce, her eyes wild like a
storm.
“You keep saying you’re tired of living, but you don’t look like someone who wants to die. Otherwise, why plan all this?
“You’re right. Killing is too simple if you want revenge. Leaving someone half–alive hurts more.”
The glass edged closer. With one slip, it would hit Paula’s eye.
Paula froze, too terrified to move.
“You Romeros have a method I actually admire. So tell me–which comes faster? Your people bursting in, or me blinding you?
“From now on, you’ll be the blind woman taking care of two useless men. What a perfect family, huh?”
“You’re insane! Do you think you can hurt me and walk out?”
Claudia laughed loudly and wildly. “I said I’m not afraid to die. Say–ever seen someone who doesn’t care about living? No? Well… I’ll show you one tonight!”
“Ahhh!”
Her hand came down.
Paula’s face twisted in terror. She shut her eyes and screamed.
But Claudia didn’t stab her eye. She dragged the glass across under Paula’s left eye instead, cutting a deep, bloody line.

Blood ran down Paula’s gaunt cheek. Her body shook.
The raw fear of dying gripped her.
Outside, the guards finally heard the scream over the thunder and rain. They shifted, ready to rush in.
“Don’t come in!” Paula shouted.
She clutched Claudia’s wrist, trying to pull back, but her head was pressed to the hard table. She couldn’t move.
She wasn’t scared to die, but she didn’t want to lose her sight.
If she couldn’t see, what would winning or losing even mean?
Seconds dragged like hours. In that tense moment, Paula finally broke.
“I’ll tell you!” she wailed.
Claudia loosened her grip.
Paula spat out a location, clutching her bleeding face and glaring at Claudia. She peeked at the wall clock, eyes burning with hate and a twisted little triumph.
“I wouldn’t go there if I were you.”
Claudia, who had just turned and was about to leave, paused and looked back.
“He might not even know you now,” Paula said, laughing shakily as she wiped blood away.
