Sterling sat beside her, stealing glances at her phone screen. Jealousy was etched all over his face again.
“Who’s this class rep guy?” he asked coldly.
Seriously? Could these people stop showing up already?
His dark gaze fixated on the screen like he wanted to burn a hole through it.
If this person could convince Claudia to go to the reunion, then that meant they held some weight in her heart.
Ha! Not happening.
“I’ll
go with you,” Sterling said flatly.
“You’re not going to Estropa for your business trip?” she asked, surprised.
She’d even booked his plane ticket herself.
He was supposed to have left days ago, but every time Claudia stayed home to focus on her art, he suddenly didn’t feel like going. It was like he had separation anxiety or something. He kept pushing back his departure again and again.
Clint had already helped him reschedule several times, until he finally pulled his last card- asking Claudia to book the ticket for him.
Because if he dared ask her to change it again, she’d definitely make him regret it.
Clint already knew how to handle his boss’s moods.
Sure enough, Sterling behaved himself until the day he had to leave.
When she mentioned his trip, Sterling froze. “May I … ”
Claudia looked at him with a calm smile.
Sterling sighed in defeat and pulled her into his arms. “I just want to take you with me.”
She leaned back, dodging his teasing kisses like he was tickling her. “Be good. You’ll be back before you know it.”
Sterling nipped gently at her cheek, voice low. “So… who’s the class rep?”

“The class rep?” Claudia’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “The class rep is a really nice person.”
“Claudia!”
“Head down,” she ordered, trying not to laugh at his jealous tone.
Still pouting, Sterling leaned down like a sulky kid.
She kissed him softly, her lips carrying the faint scent of roses. Then, with her voice warm and gentle by his ear, she whispered, “The class rep’s a girl. And no one could ever compare to you.”
Sterling’s tense expression cracked as a grin tugged at his lips.
“Claudia, you must’ve been a fisherman in your past life.”
“What?”
“Otherwise, how are you this good at reeling me in?”
She burst out laughing. “Pfft …”
“Mmph…”
“Stop! My lips still hurt …
“Just five minutes.”

The invitation that served as a bit of fun for the lovebirds became something entirely different somewhere else—a trigger for madness.
The invitation hadn’t clearly stated the details, and the person who relayed it to Claudia didn’t explain either. In reality, the reunion wasn’t just for their class–it included the entire year.
That, of course, meant Lydia and Jasper were also invited.
Someone, especially cruel, even sent an invitation to Lydia in prison.
Holding the elegant envelope that looked completely out of place among the cold gray walls, Lydia’s face twisted with rage. Her once–beautiful features had grown sharp and gaunt. With a piercing scream, she tore the invitation into pieces. Then she ripped off the bedsheets and blankets, throwing them on the floor and stomping on them like a wild animal.
It was as if she wanted to crush everyone who had mocked and humiliated her beneath her feet.
