Chapter 260 Welcome Home

Sometimes Whitney wanted to say something checky, but she’d stop herself, thinking it over and quietly holding it back.
Luckily, Sterling wasn’t that stingy. Besides the ridiculously handsome owner, he even made sure they got to see all the top performers.
Purely a show–no flirty looks allowed.
Whitney had never seen so many good–looking men in one place, all performing with that kind of upright, heroic vibe.
The only consolation came at the very end: an SVIP card and the news that from now on, any time Whitney visited, she’d get priority service–completely free.
Whitney wrapped her arms around Claudia’s slim waist, burying herself in a soft, overwhelming embrace. “Ugh… I’m really going to miss you.”
Damn it, how’s Sterling so lucky?
Claudia smiled along and patted her back. “I’ll miss you too. Work hard, and take down your dad sooner.”
Whitney’s dad was the kind of man who stayed head–over–heels in love well into middle age.
Her stepmother had been his first love. They had separated, each married and had kids, and somehow it all got tangled up again.
In front of that woman, Whitney’s dad, Kevin Sawyer, was practically out of his mind.
At least he still knew Whitney was his real daughter.
No matter how that woman tried to stir things up, he never actually handed over all the shares to Whitney’s stepbrother.
But that was all he had going for him.
If it weren’t for Claudia back then, Whitney would probably have been sold off into some remote mountains, humiliated beyond measure, maybe even driven to suicide.
With his daughter gone, that mother–and–son duo wouldn’t have had to scheme anymore.
Ever since Kevin pretended not to notice and let them off the hook, he’d been Whitney’s lifelong enemy.

Chapter 260 Welcome Home
That night, the two best friends stayed up talking for hours.

Early the next morning, Claudia’s plane carried her back to Dracovia, where people were waiting for her.
Finished
When the city lights flickered on, Claudia immediately spotted that tall, straight–backed figure in the crowd.
“Sterling!”
She barreled into his arms like a little puppy, rubbing her face excitedly against his chest.
Sterling grabbed her by the waist and lifted her into his arms. In midair, they shared a kiss.
“Welcome home.”
“Mwah, mwah!”
Claudia left a kiss on each of his cheeks. “I missed you so much.”
A small smile curved Sterling’s lips.
Waiting for someone like this–anxious, sweet, desperate–was a first in his life.
Every second, he fought the urge to just go find her.
Holding his rosebud close again, his empty heart felt full and steady.
They stayed wrapped up in each other for a while before he finally let go and took her hand. “Let’s go. Time to head home.”
Technically, there was so much to talk about: Winnie and the Lloyds’s little schemes, updates on Zoey’s car accident investigation, Florence’s second invite, even Donovan nudging them to return to the manor…
But these long–separated lovers didn’t want to think about any of that.
Soft lips pressed together, tongues intertwining, saliva mingling–only pure love and longing needing release.
By the time the car pulled up at the villa, Claudia’s lips were a little swollen, and Sterling’s Adam’s apple bore a few tiny bite marks.
Breaking apart, she laughed and looked at him. “We’re home.”
