Sterling stood up from the couch and grabbed the big water bottle from his desk. “You already had too much milkshake today. You can only drink water before bed.”

“Then I’m taking your coffee away too,” Claudia complained.

Sterling chuckled helplessly and pinched her nose. “Alright, you win.”

He opened the lid and helped her drink, saying gently, “Take it slow.”

He acted like she was a little kid who needed help with everything.

Completely ignored by the lovey–dovey couple, Kamila’s face flushed red. She couldn’t believe how they just left her out like that–the silent humiliation burned in her heart.

Kamila realized that if she kept making a scene, Clint might actually throw her out.

She clenched the documents in her hands until they wrinkled, then looked awkwardly at the couple sitting close together.

Claudia lounged comfortably, being doted on by the man Kamila could never win over. She still had that annoyingly innocent look. She didn’t even need to say a word. She had already won completely.

Kamila closed her eyes for a second.

The sound of her high heels echoed down the hallway, and Clint quickly told the front desk to block her phone number.

After the office door closed, Claudia leaned over Sterling’s back and pulled gently on his ear. “Mr. Romero, you sure have a lot of admirers. So many people seem to like you.”
