Chapter 379 Claudia’s Unlucky Night
Chapter 379 Claudia’s Unlucky Night
If Sterling wanted it, then they’d get married. Simple as that.
420 Free Coins.
But surprisingly, the one who had brought it up in the first place went quiet. His hand gently brushed against Claudia’s soft, pale check. He couldn’t help but give it a little squeeze and smile. “Baby, you’re going to spoil me.”
The more she gave, the more he’d crave.
“And if I spoil you too much?” Claudia asked with a grin.
Sterling’s eyes darkened slightly, his voice low and steady. “Then I’ll want to lock you away. So your heart and eyes hold only me. So every inch of you smells like me. No space between us. Not even for a moment. And when we die, I want us cremated together. Our ashes mixed. No way to tell where you end and I begin. So we can find each other again in the next life and start all over.”
Claudia didn’t flinch. Not even a little. In fact, her eyes lit up even more. “That means we can share a death anniversary,” she said brightly.
Sterling burst into a soft laugh and rubbed his nose affectionately against her cheek. “Baby … ”
She really was the best gift the universe had ever given him.
“Just a little more,” he whispered hoarsely, leaning in like a man addicted, drawn again to her lips.
They were soft, warm, sweet. He wanted to claim every part of her. To draw out every hidden reaction, to taste, to devour, until there was nothing left but her, completely his.
She was both his poison and his cure.
Claudia was so good, so lovely, so delicate–he had to handle her with care, as though she might break in his hands if he didn’t.
A madman like him, wandering through the dark, how could he ever let go of the one light in his world? No–anyone who dared try to dim that light could go to hell.
By the time Sterling and Claudia returned to the main hall, the engagement ceremony was already well into its second half.

Sterling’s sharp features had softened just a touch, but Claudia’s lips were brighter, kiss–swollen and almost impossibly red.
Emma sneaked a few glances at them, then turned to look at Frederick, who still had a polite smile on his face… but whose eyes betrayed something far more fragile. A faint trace of disappointment. Emma sighed to herself. Yup. Just as I thought.
But no matter how juicy it was, this was one ship that couldn’t be sunk.
So she quickly rallied a bunch of their cousins and dragged Frederick into conversation, asking him all kinds of random questions, doing her absolute best to make sure he didn’t get another second time alone with Claudia.
Frederick immediately picked up on Emma’s intentions and couldn’t help but let out a silent laugh.
Still, he didn’t pull away.
Emma was acting all guarded because she thought he might try to get between Sterling and Claudia, but only he knew the truth. He’d always been a bystander. Seven years ago, and still
now.
Claudia seemed to be cursed by this venue today.
First, she got hit with a splash of red wine, Sterling took the brunt of it for her. Now, barely separated for a few minutes, and some clumsy kid came barreling through with a cake … which went straight onto her dress.
There was no saving it, she had to go back to the lounge to change. Again.
But as soon as she pushed the door open, she knew something was off.
Donovan, meanwhile, was in a fairly good mood. His beloved eldest grandson and his fiancée were a perfect match, and even Claudia–the family’s wild card–had been surprisingly well- behaved all night.
He glanced at Sterling with a rare sense of satisfaction.
