The stage lights flickered on, and a beautiful woman in a black dance dress slowly revealed herself.
She danced to The Song of the Fading Tide, a piece that had never been performed before.
People had already heard of the mysterious genius choreographer, C. Rumor had it that many widely admired, highly acclaimed works–including Chasing the Wind, which Lydia had plagiarized, the solo in the Florence’s ballet, the dance from a certain blockbuster film, and several other celebrated pieces–had all come from her.
It was said that she was never short of money and choreographed purely out of passion, so her works were exceptionally rare, regardless of the price offered.
This was the first time C ever appeared in front of a crowd.
No one expected the legendary choreographer to be so young and beautiful, or that her dance skills would rival those of many professional dancers.
The theme of “love“ran through her performance, weaving everything together and moving everyone who watched.
“Born with the tide and fading with its ebb and flow“-her dance captured the essence of that eternal cycle, embodying an unyielding, dazzling life force that left the audience in awe.
As the music faded, many people in the crowd quietly wiped away tears.
As thunderous applause broke out, C finished her dance and bowed to the crowd.
Among the audience, Celine watched the performance with pride, seated beside Florence and Andrea. Even after so many years and countless setbacks, the girl she had once missed the chance to take in as her student was still pursuing her dream–in her own way.
Whitney and Mandy did their part as the hype crew, clapping as hard as they could and snapping photos during the curtain call.
And off to the side of the stage, a tall man watched her performance with a smile, pride and admiration evident in his eyes.
After this appearance, many tried to find out C’s real identity and even invited her to join their dance troupes, but she refused them all. That was the only time she ever performed in front of an audience.

Years later, an audience member from that night finally met C face–to–face at a famous illustrator’s book signing, only to realize that these two top talents in different fields were actually the same person.
After leaving the theater, Claudia and Sterling walked back to the place where they had first met. Along the way, he turned to her and asked, “Do you regret it?”
Claudia shook her head with a smile.
Life could never be perfect in every way. She was happy continuing the work she loved from behind the scenes. There would always be talented people in the spotlight, but working behind the scenes had its own worth, too. She was content with this kind of imperfection.
Sterling smiled, patted her head, and suddenly got down on one knee, holding a large bouquet.
“Ms. Claudia Lancaster, now that you’ve found success, will you give me the chance to spend the rest of my life with you?”
He asked as he held out a diamond ring he’d picked out just for her.
After everything they had been through together, he wanted nothing more than to build a bright future with her.
Claudia’s eyes curved with joy. “Mr. Sterling Romero, you know my answer.”
He smiled, then slowly and carefully slid the ring onto her finger.
Claudia held out her arms for a hug.
Sterling stood, lifted her in his arms, and spun her around several times. The usually cool and reserved man suddenly shouted to the sky, “Claudia, I love you!”
Claudia laughed out loud. “Sterling, I love
you too!”
They gazed at each other, and he lowered his head to kiss her passionately.
