Chapter 76 Fabio

“There are tons of desserts tonight. If you’re tired, just sit down, grab some food, and take a break,” Jasper said casually, acting like he cared.
Claudia suddenly gave a wicked grin. “Do you truly think this engagement is happening tonight?”
He pursed his lips. “Of course. I’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen.”
He studied her, trying to read her expression. “Does Mr. Romero know about tonight? You two…”
Claudia rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed. “Don’t drag anyone else into this.”
Her tone sounded serious, but her eyes were full of teasing. “Let’s make a bet. If you can stay here and go through with your engagement before my dad announces it, I’ll play along. But if you lose, don’t ever say you like me again. It makes me sick.”
Jasper stared at her. “You mean it?”
“Yeah, totally.”
With all the troublemakers around, at least one of them might be useful.
Sterling, stuck outside, had no words.
Jasper got pulled away by Sylvia for a chat, leaving Claudia some peace. She found a couch and plopped down.
Right on cue, Lydia appeared after calming Zane.
As Lydia got close, Claudia said flatly, “One annoying pest after another.”
Lydia stopped a few steps away, looking hurt.
Everyone nearby turned to watch the confrontation.
Seeing their goddess being mocked, Lydia’s number two fanboy couldn’t wait to jump in.
“Claudia, who are you calling a pest? You’re the biggest one here. No one is nastier than you. I heard you slapped Zane outside. You’re even ruthless to your brother. That’s impressive.”
The gossip spread fast. Claudia laughed. The trash talk didn’t bother her at all.
She waved lazily. “Wanna know what a real slap feels like?”

Fabio Lambert flushed with anger, glaring at her. “You think your parents throwing you a party means you’ve got backup? You’ll never match up to Lydia.”
He’d been watching. Wilson and Clarence were busy introducing Claudia to everyone.
Lydia was nowhere in sight, and even when she showed up, nobody paid attention.
In the Lancaster family, there should only be one heiress. Why was Claudia even mentioned?
Lydia quickly stepped in. She couldn’t stay quiet any longer. “Fabio, Claudia is my sister. There’s no need to compare. Please show her some respect.”
But Fabio only got angrier hearing his goddess defend Claudia.
He looked Claudia up and down with contempt. “No idea where you got
you got those rags.
