“I’ve already had the guest room next to mine made up for you. It has a terrace. The weather is so nice today, you might even be able to see the stars tonight.”

Noah’s words pulled Natalie back from her thoughts, and a wave of memories washed over her. She thought of her grandfather, and a familiar ache filled her chest.

Sensing her shift in mood, Noah reached out and gently patted her head again.

“Alright, don’t dwell on the past. Let’s go inside.”

Natalie nodded and followed him into the house, completely unaware that their every move was being meticulously recorded by a phone from a distance.

After inspecting the emerald, a smile spread across her lips. “This is exactly what I was looking for. I knew you would have it.”

Noah leaned against the table, a curious look on his face. “What are you repairing that you had to come all this way for? Is it for Jackson?”

At the mention of Jackson’s name, Natalie instinctively shook her head. “Jackson and I are in the process of getting a divorce.”

Noah had known about her imprisonment. He had tried everything to get her released, but for years, he hadn’t even been able to see her.

“I know you were framed,” he said, a warm smile spreading across his face. “So if you want a divorce, you have my full support.” The look in his eyes was one of deep, heartfelt sympathy.

“Thank you.”

“Don’t be so formal. We’re family,” he said with a gentle laugh. “I’ll cook for you at home for lunch, and tonight, I’ll take you to the food street.”

“Okay,” she nodded. “It’s been so long since I’ve had your cooking.”

“Then today, I’ll make all your favorites.”

It was late afternoon by the time Marcus finished his work for the day. His Maybach had just pulled up in front of a luxury hotel in Sinoria. He had just stepped out of the car when James called out to him. “Mr. Marcus, we have an update on Ms. Foster.”
