Shattered Then Healed By His Love (by Haley Blanton) novel Chapter 179

Chapter 179 An Ultimatum

She stared at him in shock. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“Two choices.” He braced his hands on the car on either side of her, trapping her. “Either leave with me tonight, or you let me stay with you.”

Her eyes widened. “Are you insane? How could I possibly let you stay here?”

“Why not? Afraid your lover will find out?” A cold, thin smile touched his lips, his voice a low growl. “Don’t worry. He won’t find me.”

“No!” She pushed against him. “I’m not choosing either of those. Just leave.”

He caught her wrist, his grip tightening. “Are you trying to make me force you to choose, Natalie?”

Her heart hammered against her ribs. She knew exactly what he was threatening. If she didn’t choose, he would make a scene, one her senior couldn’t possibly miss.

“I can’t leave with you, and I can’t let you stay. Please, don’t make this difficult for me,” she pleaded, her voice cracking.

Her distress seemed to soften him. He reached out, his hand cupping her face. “Then just give me a kiss, and I’ll go.”

Her brow furrowed, a fresh wave of anxiety washing over her. She glanced over his shoulder toward the second–floor window. A shadow moved behind the curtain. Noah was out of the shower. He could come looking for her at any moment. From that window, he would see everything.

She decided to get it over with. She closed her eyes, rose onto her toes, and pressed her lips against his. It was a light, fleeting touch, meant to be chaste, but it was enough to ignite the desire he had been suppressing.

As she tried to pull away, he moved. The back door of the car swung open, and he lifted her inside, all in one swift, decisive motion. She barely had time to react. The door slammed shut, and his mouth was on hers.
