She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 147

Ten minutes later, the police arrived.

Bryce gave them a quick rundown of what had happened.

Some officers immediately rushed off to the scene of the attack.

Twenty minutes later, the police returned, bringing with them Bryce’s bodyguards and four survivors from the other side.

On Bryce’s end, one bodyguard was dead and two were seriously injured; the rest had gotten off with minor wounds.

As for the attackers, their casualties were still unknown—only four had survived and been brought in for questioning.

After leaving the police station, one of Bryce’s bodyguards reported to him quietly.

“Mr. York, all of these men are foreign nationals.”

Foreigners.

The word set off a spark in Sabrina’s mind.

No wonder these men had been so brazen, acting like they owned the place—just like they must have done in their own country, and now they’d brought that arrogance to Veridia.

Bryce frowned, deep in thought, trying to recall if he’d ever crossed any foreign organizations.

He couldn’t think of anything. Business with overseas partners had always been smooth—no grudges, no enemies, nothing out of the ordinary.

Could someone have hired foreign mercenaries?

Just then, Sabrina spoke up from the side. “Those men were after me.”

“What do you mean?” Bryce stared at her, thrown off by her sudden declaration.

She was just a kid—who on earth could hate her enough to go to such lengths, risking everything to take her out?

If she’d ticked someone off at school, they might at most try to scare her or have some words—but no one would hire assassins.

“Everything that happened tonight was too suspicious,” Sabrina said, her tone calm, her face unreadable. “First, the car broke down, then our phones lost signal. If you had been their target, they would have attacked when your bodyguards stepped out of the car.”
