She’s Back, and Hell’s Coming with Her novel Chapter 216

As for those vicious rumors circulating online, they were nothing more than spiteful lies spread by a few classmates who’d once suffered at her hands. Sabrina had never gone out of her way to provoke anyone, not from the very beginning. The gossip seemed to have started the moment Sabrina returned to the Sutton family.

Could it be…

Wallace glanced uncertainly at Celine, who sat with her head bowed, her expression hidden.

Hester, meanwhile, looked utterly pitiful, still smarting from the disappointment that her grandmother hadn’t taken her side. But now, hearing Sommer leap to her defense, the cloud over her heart finally lifted.

“Enough!” Octavia’s voice rang out, sharp and trembling with anger. To hear her granddaughter spoken of like this—it was more than she could bear. Her chest rose and fell as she struggled to contain her fury.

Desmond, seeing her distress, jumped to his feet and slapped Sommer across the face without hesitation. Then he rushed to Octavia’s side, gently rubbing her back in an attempt to soothe her.

“Mom, please don’t be upset. Sommer was just speaking out of anger—she didn’t mean it.”

Octavia could barely catch her breath. When she finally managed to speak, her voice was weak and trembling. “Is this what you want? To drive me to my grave with your nonsense?”

Hester hurriedly squeezed past Sabrina to crowd around Octavia, fussing over her and trying to help her breathe easier. “Grandma, it’s all my fault. Please don’t be angry. I’d never forgive myself if something happened to you.”

From the back of the room, Sabrina said plainly, “If you all keep arguing, Grandma really might get sick.”

An uncomfortable silence settled over the group.

Dinner ended on a sour note. Octavia had to be helped from the table, her strength clearly drained.
