Amelia's pov
" Did you do something to that guy?" Foster leans in to murmur close to my ear. I look up from my fries and stare at him confused.
" Raiden has been staring at you since you stepped foot in the cafeteria," his eyes flicked behind me.
My pulse races much to my dismay. I can feel the weight of his stare on my back. I had felt it from the moment I walked into the room. But I had tried my best to ignore it, however, I can no longer.
I twist around to catch a glimpse of him, surprised to see the burning intensity he had on me. My face flamed hot despite trying to seem indifferent. I flipped him off and watch his eyes dance with amusement, his lips curving into a smirk while his friends hoot in laughter.
Glaring at him, I turn back around to continue to munch on my fries when Foster leans a little in again and whispers. " He's coming this way," his voice is a shudder of fear and surprise, making my stomach crumble with nerves.
I stiffen, my bones turning to steel as I try to focus on my fries. However, the entire room was quiet and I could somehow hear the incoming of his footsteps drawing closer by the second, and feel his gaze on my back.
My fries turn to mush as I squeeze them. Foster winces, looking at the fries in pity, and then his eyes slide to stare at Pickett who's trying to shrink into her shell by the counter. She was still on the line waiting on her lunch and hadn't noticed anything yet.
Or maybe she did and that's why she was facing away and seeming to want to crawl into a hole.
So much for telling him to stay away and not make things so obvious.
My breath snagged in my throat and my damn body betrays me when a shiver so sharp and haunting curls down my spine. I hate how he affects me. It is like my very own body isn't even mine.
I clench my hands into fists and glared up at him. His mouth tilts into a smirk, showcases his white teeth. " What do you want Raiden? I don't think I called for an ad for crest," I utter sarcastically even though inside I am trembling with nerves.
His eyes gleam with amusement and the corners line with wrinkles of laughter. With the curve of a smirk on his lips, Raiden replied. " I want my girl sitting beside me for lunch," he tilts his head, sounding so serious. " Is that too much to ask for?"
