Raiden’s pov
I pushed open the back doors that lead out into the yard. The rain was belting down heavily and Amelia shifts in my arms to
stare out.
I stepped out barefoot with her in my arms. She squirms, letting out a tiny cute squeal as we get soaked in seconds. I cannot help but laugh at her.
She tilts her head back and lets the rain pour over her face and I cannot help but grow silent and just stare at her.
Her eyes fluttered close and a soft smile tugs at her lips while she lets out a faint sigh. Gone was the worry and sad lines drawn between her eyebrows and now all I could see on her features was…peace.
I lowered her down, letting her feet touch the grass and she giggled, twirls and then turns to me. She reaches out her hand. ” Dance with me,”
A smile curves on my lips as I slip my hand in hers. “Yes ma’am.”
Amelia laughs as I spin her and catch her, pulling her back into my arms. We played around in the puddles, laughing, dancing, not having a care in the world, forgetting our problems for the moment.
We didn’t care if anyone saw us, didn’t care about anything. It was just us. Me and her. Just us.
“Didn’t know you could dance,” she teased when I pulled her back into my arms for the fourth time. I feigned a hurt look.
“Did you think I had two left feet or something?”
She giggles, her head thrown back. I haven’t seen her this happy and carefree before. The sound makes my heart thud and
squeeze.
“Nope. But I must say your little tough persona doesn’t really give dance in the rain vibe,” she jokes. “Okay maybe I thought you’d waddle like a duck.”
I raise a brow, tightening my arms around her waist and feel her gasp before I even heard it shatter through her lips. “I’ll have you know little mate, I’ve got excellent rhythm. Especially when I’m dancing with the one who captured me entirely.”
Her cheeks flush and I’m not sure if it was from the rain or my words. Either way, she was beautiful under the faint moonlight and rain. She looks away and her teeth snag her lower lip to hide her smile. Too late. I’ve seen it and felt it.
“You’re trying to get to my soft side aren’t you?” She murmurs under her breath.
I grin and lean close until our noses brush. Her breath strangles and she shivers. “Is it working?”
She looks at me under her lashes and pouts cutely. “Maybe,” she whispers before brushing her lips against mine. I grin against her mouth and deepen the kiss, feeling her melt into my touch despite the cold rain.
The world really does seem to fade when she’s in my arms.
When we part her eyes are closed and her forehead is still pressed to mine. Amelia breaths in sync with me as if we were truly one.
“I want to see that part of you again,” she whispers, pulling away a little and opens her eyes.
My brows knot in question and she continues, her fingers fisting my soaked shirt. “I want to see you in your beast form. I want to see your wolf.”
My breath catches For a second I just stare at her as I process her request. And then I ask “Aren’t you scared?” I can remember the frightened look that had crossed her eyes when she first saw me in that form. I didn’t want her to look at me as if I was a beast.

She shook her head and shrug. “The first time I saw you yes,” she admits. “But somehow not anymore. Your world, which is now my world, intrigues me in ways I can’t explain.”
Her words caused my beast to stir and crawl to the surface. Our mate accepting this side of us brought us pleasure. He, my wolf, was clawing to be seen. He wanted her to be proud of him. Love him.

And I wanted that too.
I stand there for a few and searched her gaze before caving in and nodding to her request. “Okay. Step back a little.”
Amelia nods and takes a couple steps back, hugging herself as she watches me intently. I stare back at her, gauging her
reaction.
She seemed calm enough and her heartbeat was steady.
The shifting always starts with the bones. Crack by crack, stretch by stretch as something like zapping lightning strikes down my spine.
It is always painful a bit, especially the first shift when we first can. But now I have grown used to it and it no longer troubles
My shift is quick and fast. It only takes seconds and I am no longer in my human flesh but my wolf’s. I shake out my fur and rise to my full height. I tower over Amelia, dark fur slicking down by the heavy rain as my claws dig into the wet earth.
I brace myself for the terror to swim through her eyes. I brace for her gasp, or the look of disgust. Perhaps even terrified
scream.
But all I got was a small smile and for her to step forward. Once….twice. Until she is standing just before me, her mouthwatering scent surrounding me. Even in the rain her scent is overpowering, seeping into every single part of my
senses.
And then she does something that shocks me. She reaches out and touches my snout. I feel my beast tremble and purr.
Then he does something he doesn’t do for anyone. He bows. Lowered himself to one knee and he bows. He bows his head to her and she giggles, her fingers now running through our wet dark fur.
“You’re beautiful,” she whispers and my heart stutters at the honesty in her voice. So raw. So true.
“I think I’m falling for every part of you, Raiden.”
