Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 111

"All right then. I'll have a few of the staff move your luggage and clothes to the car. Once you've apologized, I'll personally drive you both to Azure Heights."

Grace Quinn bit down so hard on her lip that she tasted blood, her nails digging sharp crescents into her palms.

Well. Well, what a little vixen.

One day, she'd pay them back for every ounce of humiliation she and her daughter suffered today—tenfold, a hundredfold.

That old hag stole her place while alive, and even after death, left behind this brat to torment her!

She'd sooner change her name than swallow this insult.

Her eyes rimmed red, she forced a gentle tone. "Sean, since you insist, I'll go inside and apologize to her."

She looked so fragile, so wronged, that Sean's heart softened.

He slid his arm around her shoulders. "It's all right, Grace. I know you've been through a lot. I appreciate everything you've done."

Sunny sat on the sofa, sipping her tea, waiting for Grace Quinn and Chloe to finally show their faces.

Sean tried to smooth things over. "Heh, Sunny, Ms. Quinn is here."

Sunny set her teacup down with just enough force for the sound to carry. Her gaze sharpened instantly.

"So you're here," she said, pulling out her phone and switching on the camera, aiming it straight at Grace's face. "Go on, give your apology. I'm listening."

Chloe trembled with anger. "Dad, look at her! What is she doing? Is she seriously going to record this?"

Sunny shrugged. "What else? Did you really think a half-hearted apology was all it would take? I need something for the record—a reminder for you both, so you never forget today."

She wanted them to remember that she wasn't someone you could push around or silence without consequence.

She wanted them to think twice before coming at her again.

She'd played the role of the quiet, obedient girl long enough. If they thought her reputation for being difficult was a problem, she honestly didn't care.

Grace Quinn tasted blood—her lips had split under the pressure of her own teeth.

Fine. She'd underestimated her stepdaughter.

All these years, she'd thought the girl had no backbone. Clearly, she'd just been pretending.

Were they really being fired?

They'd served in this house for years—some for more than a decade.

Sean inwardly admired his daughter's ruthlessness. She hadn't left any of his wife's people behind.

"All right, you can all go. We don't need so many staff any longer. Don't worry, you'll be paid what you're owed. That's final."

Grace's resentment toward Sunny only deepened.

When everything was finally done, Sunny glanced at her father. "Dad, should I have them send your luggage over as well?"

Sean stiffened. He scowled. "I'm not moving to Azure Heights. I'm staying right here!"

"Sunny, this is my house. Are you trying to kick me out, too?"

Sunny smiled sweetly. "I wouldn't dare. Just asking, that's all. After all, you and Ms. Quinn seem to be joined at the hip these days."

Sean was left speechless.
