Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 180

"Ma'am, this pair is our latest platinum bands for couples. The design is simple and elegant. While diamond rings are beautiful, you'll actually wear these much more often. Would you like me to wrap them up for you?"

Sunny gazed at the rings sparkling on the velvet tray, then glanced at the price tag—very reasonable.

As a gift for him, he'd probably like it, wouldn't he?

After all, he'd been looking out for her all this time. She'd borrowed his help with the company shares, so getting him a present felt only fair.

Besides, she got to keep one of them too.

"Yes, please. Wrap them up for me."

Sunny was reaching for her phone to pay when a voice laced with mock surprise rang out behind her. "Sunny, fancy seeing you here."

Her brows knitted in annoyance, but she didn't bother turning around. Instead, she looked straight at the saleswoman. "I'll take them."

Luna sidled up, clinging like an unwelcome shadow. "What are you buying, Sunny? Oh, rings! Are you getting married?"

She feigned shock, though in truth, she was a little surprised. Last time, she and Chloe had spotted Sunny with a married man. So, was the mistress finally making her move, thinking a ring would tie him down?

With that thought, Luna's own irritation at shopping for rings alone vanished.

Sunny pointed her phone's payment code at the scanner, watching the screen confirm her $2,800 purchase.

Luna's smirk only deepened.

"Sunny, don't you think your boyfriend will be upset if you buy such a cheap ring?"

She gave a little laugh. "I'm here with Tristan today to shop for wedding bands. If he saw me settling for something so inexpensive, he'd be furious."

With Tristan nowhere in sight, Luna dropped the act. She clutched her cheek, ready to retaliate.

Sunny stared her down and, catching Luna's wrist with one hand, landed another slap on her other cheek.

She smiled, almost cheerful. "There. Now you've got a matching pair."

"I'm calling the police! I'll have your law license revoked, Sunny!"

A cold sneer tugged at Sunny's lips. "Go ahead. Get your injuries examined first—if it's serious enough, come find me. But I recorded everything you just said, and this store has audio security cameras. We'll see if you getting slapped after provoking me counts as a crime. Be my guest."

With that, Sunny picked up her bag and strode out, leaving Luna seething and humiliated.

The saleswoman bit her lip to keep from laughing. "Ma'am, would you like me to call the police for you?"
