Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 188

Stellan just whisked Sunny away without another word.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Sunny shot him a glance. The curve of his lips was almost dazzling.

"Stellan, we just left like that. We didn't even say goodbye to Grandpa Lawson."

He raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry. My dad has Zara to keep him company." Then, his tone shifted, "But, isn't it strange for you to call me Stellan? We're married now."

"You should call me ‘husband.'"

He stressed the word, as if savoring it.

Sunny felt her cheeks burn at the thought of saying something so intimate, and immediately turned her face away.

Stellan rested a hand on the steering wheel, watching her smooth profile out of the corner of his eye. She didn't want to call him that? Well, he'd find plenty of ways to hear it from her eventually.

"And Grandpa Lawson—you'll have to start calling him Dad too. Well, since he didn't give us the official blessing, ‘Mr. Lawson' will do. As for Tristan's father, you can call him ‘brother' if you feel like it, or just skip the greeting altogether."

Sunny was speechless.

Oh, dear Lord, could he please not get ahead of himself? She really didn't want to think that far right now.

When the car finally pulled up to the villa, Sunny felt like her ears could finally rest.

She never would have guessed that a man who always seemed so disciplined and reserved could chatter on like this.

She turned to him. "Aren't you coming inside?"

Stellan's eyes glinted with amusement. "I've got to go back and deal with the family. Don't wait up for me tonight—get some sleep if you're tired."

Who said she was waiting for him?

"Oh. Well… good luck."

That made Stellan laugh under his breath.

His deep, rich voice came floating over. "Thanks."

Zara may have gotten a "hazard pay" bonus for tonight, but Grandpa's imposing presence was starting to crush her.

Back at the Lawson estate, everyone's expressions were complicated.

"So, Zara, you really did know about Sunny and your uncle beforehand?" Annabelle pressed, brows furrowed.

The word "seduced" made Zara bristle, and she was about to protest when a tall figure appeared in the doorway, backlit by the porch light. Stellan's voice was as cold as ice.

"There was no seduction."

"I begged her to marry me."

Three pairs of eyes stared at him, stunned.

Abbot's face darkened. "Stellan, do you even know what you're saying?"

"I do."

Stellan walked forward, calm and steady. "Dad, I'm thirty-three. I'm not getting any younger—I'm seven years older than her. If I hadn't asked her to marry me, she would never have considered it."

"And with Mom and the Carringtons having arranged a marriage anyway, this way I fulfill Mom's wish and manage to find a wife for myself. It's a win-win. So, what exactly are you all upset about?"
