Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 111

After he finished yelling, Jordan Smith immediately yanked out his phone and dialed Camila Davis.

The nanny kept quiet, but she couldn’t help thinking: Lillian’s really changed for the better. She seems to be settling in at school just fine.

Being around every day, the nanny saw every little shift in the kid—Lillian was obviously doing well. So why was Mr. Smith so angry?

It’s not like he’s ever paid much attention before. Now he suddenly shows up, not out of concern, but as if he’s here to interrogate someone.

She knew right from wrong, but in the end, she dared not say a word. After all, she was just the help—these weren’t her affairs to question.

Jordan didn’t notice her silence; he was too busy trying Camila’s number again.

No luck. The call went straight to voicemail—her phone was off.

Jordan’s face darkened, a thundercloud brewing in his eyes. The air around him felt like the moment before a tornado hits.

Camila Davis, you think you can end our marriage with just a piece of paper?

Dream on.

Since she’d schemed her way into this marriage, he’d be the one to decide when it was over. Not her.

Fuming, Jordan stalked out the door.

Meanwhile, Camila had no clue about the storm heading her way. She spent the day sightseeing around Harrisburg with her parents, and in the afternoon, she was right on time to pick Lillian up from school.

After two days, the little one was adjusting wonderfully—no signs of trouble at all.

Though, she had become pretty attached to Mr. Adams.

She wouldn’t even leave school unless Larry Adams was there to hold her hand.
