Still, she hesitated a little. “Mr. Williams is such a busy man—are you sure we won’t be bothering him?”
Larry Adams shook his head. “No way. He already agreed. He set it for the weekend, at that square where people feed the pigeons. Said it’s the place you first met. You know the one, right, Ms. Davis?”
A light went on in Camila Davis’s mind.
Of course, she knew the spot!
Since Mr. Williams had agreed, there was nothing to worry about.
Not long after, Camila said her goodbyes to Larry, took Lillian by the hand, and headed home.
The days that followed were a whirlwind at The Smith Group.
After their product showcase, N. Z Teck had become the hottest name in the industry.
Offers for partnerships flooded in from everywhere.
As the lead developer behind their system, Camila and her team barely had a chance to breathe, working late into the evenings. It wasn’t until Saturday that she could finally take a real breath.
So, on Saturday morning, as promised, Camila brought Lillian to meet Dennis Williams.
When they arrived, Dennis was already waiting for them inside a cozy corner café.
He wore a crisp white sweater and relaxed khakis, his jacket draped over the back of his chair. Morning sunlight streamed through the window, bathing him in a warm, golden glow.
The usual cool, distant air about him seemed to melt away, replaced by something gentle, almost scholarly.
He held a mug of coffee, steam curling up and softening the sharp angles of his handsome face.
Camila found herself staring for a moment, almost lost in the sight, until Aaron spotted them and called out, “Ms. Davis! Lillian!”
Dennis glanced up, and Camila snapped out of her daze. “Morning, Mr. Williams. Morning, Aaron!”
“Good morning,” Dennis replied, setting his coffee down.
