Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 352

He was probably used to whatever she was like by now, wasn’t he?

With that thought, Camila Davis quickly collected herself.

She rolled out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. When she stepped into the hallway, she spotted Sarah Brown and Lillian at the dining table.

The two of them were munching on bagels and sipping orange juice, clearly admiring something on the table.

Camila’s curiosity got the better of her. “Hey, what are you two looking at?”

Sarah looked up, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. “Come over here and check this out!”

Camila raised an eyebrow and walked over. The moment she saw, she couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, it’s Lillian’s drawing? Is it finished already?”

She took a moment to really look at it, smiling genuinely. “Sweetie, this looks amazing!”

Lillian beamed at the compliment, grinning up at her mom. “Uncle Dennis helped too…”

“Uncle?” Camila asked, a little surprised. “Dennis Williams?”

“Yep!” Lillian nodded, her little finger pointing to a few details on the page. “Right here!”

Camila hesitated. “Did you two work on this last night?”

“Uh-huh!” Lillian nodded again.

Sarah immediately leaned in, eyes wide with gossip. “So, rumor has it Mr. Williams carried you home last night. What’s up with that? Weren’t you at that conference? Why was he the one bringing you back? The two of you…”

Camila waved her hands, cutting Sarah off before she could run wild with ideas. “Mr. Williams was at the conference too. I just… had a bit too much wine, got dizzy, and he brought me home. That’s it! Stop with the wild theories.”

“Oh, so that’s all it was…” Sarah’s disappointment was obvious.

Camila couldn’t help but laugh. “Yes, that’s all!”

Sarah let out an exaggerated sigh. “How boring.”

Dropping the gossip, she turned back to her scrambled eggs and bacon.
