Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 67

Because of the men in her life, Camila Davis was practically a regular here.

When the car finally rolled to a stop, Jordan Smith barely looked at her before muttering, “Be quick, will you?”

Camila didn’t bother to reply. She just grabbed Lillian’s hand, got out, and only spoke once they were both on the sidewalk. Her tone was cold and clipped. “I’ve sent you the prescription. Go get your own meds. We’re busy, so we’re leaving.”

She had no intention of going the extra mile for someone who just wasn’t worth it anymore.

With Lillian in tow, Camila didn’t look back as she walked away.

Jordan sat frozen in the backseat, his face thunderous. He hadn’t expected Camila to just blow him off like that.

In the end, it was the driver who went in to pick up the medicine.

Camila and Lillian had barely left when Sandra Taylor appeared, tapping on Jordan’s window.

She’d been tailing them since they left the Smith Group office, afraid Jordan might have a change of heart about Camila, or—God forbid—patch things up.

But thankfully, things hadn’t gone that way.

Now, Jordan looked up in surprise when he saw her, quickly opening the door. “Sandra? What are you doing here?”

Sandra gave him a tender smile. “I couldn’t just leave you alone, not when you’re sick. How could I focus on work, knowing you’re out here? Did you get your meds? I saw Camila just walk off… Didn’t she care at all?”

At the mention of Camila, Jordan’s expression turned icy. “Don’t bring her up. The meds are sorted. I’ll have the housekeeper make the soup later.”

Sandra leaned in, soothing. “Don’t be upset. I can make the soup for you. Remember when Daniel and I went shopping and I bought that fancy Dutch oven? I thought I might get to take care of you one day. Why don’t you come over to my place tonight?”

Jordan’s eyes darkened at her offer, but he didn’t hesitate. “Alright. You really know how to look after someone, Sandra.”

Sandra smiled, shaking her head. “It’s no trouble. I’m happy to.”

Jordan felt a wave of softness for her. Compared to Sandra, Camila just didn’t measure up. Only Sandra seemed to truly care.

Meanwhile, Camila had no idea what he was thinking.

She was more indifferent than ever toward Jordan—otherwise, she wouldn’t have left him standing outside the pharmacy like that.

After leaving, she took Lillian straight to an art supply store.
