Chapter 118
“I was just thinking about you. Christian said the council is leaving after lunch. Christian wants to chat and mentioned whiskey talk tonight,” I tell her.
“Actually… Shane and I made plans to get together and talk privately tonight,” she says.
I grin. “That’s fine. I’m sure Christian won’t mind.”
Sebastiana grins at me. “I’m sure YOU won’t mind. Shane was pretty upset after talking to Councilman Johnathon. Were you?” she asks me, getting serious.
“Yeah. He was implying that Christian was being inappropriate with me.”
She rolls her eyes. “Does he NOT know my brother?”
I stop, just staring at Sebastiana. I don’t know why her saying that makes me feel better, but it
does.
“Obviously, he doesn’t.”
“Obviously. I’m sure you set him straight.”
“Yes, I did. And I reminded him that even if your brother and I were having sex, which we’re not, that I’m seventeen and underage sex is not only acceptable, but it’s part of the approved curriculum at the Academy.”
“Damn girl! I knew I liked you! So, does this mean you think you can get my brother to finally cave?” she asks, pulling me aside.
I blow out a breath. “Do you think I can?”
She looks thoughtful for a moment. “No. Or at least not right away. But you’re a hot Alpha female who loves the hunt, right? Hunt that man and bring him down,” she says, making both of us laugh.
“Is that what you’re doing with my brother?” I ask.
“Oh honey, there was no hunt involved. I growled once and he rolled over and showed me that sexy as fuck belly,” she says, and we both break into giggles again.

“I hate that you’re leaving. I know we haven’t known each other long, but I really do feel like we’ve become friends very quickly,” I tell her.
“Oh, I’ll be back, don’t you worry. And yes, we are friends, and I think our friendship will only get stronger as we get older.”
I reach over and hug her. “I’m really glad we met.”
“Me too,” she says, hugging me tightly. “Now, stop acting like this is goodbye, it’s not, and tell me what you need from me.”
“Let’s go make sure lunch is ready so we have no delays in getting rid of our guests.”
“Works for me.”
