Emily stood tall, her voice calm but filled with power.
"It’s been three months since everything happened," she said coldly.
"I never came looking for you people, so don’t come looking for me."
"Stay far away from me. Don’t force me to deal with you both."
"Just because I decided to let go doesn’t mean I’m weak."
"This is your one warning."
With that, she turned around and started walking away, leaving everyone frozen in shock.
Julie snapped out of it first, her face burning with rage.
"Bitch, did you just slap me?!" she screamed and rushed forward to grab Emily.
But before she could reach her, a strong hand grabbed Julie's arm — a security guard.
"Let go of me!" Julie shouted, struggling wildly.
"You bitch, where do you think you’re going?! Come back here! How dare you slap me!"
Emily didn’t look back. She kept walking, even though her chest ached. Her face turned pale from the weight of everything — the pain, the betrayal, the memories.
Just as she reached the door of the mall, she stopped in her tracks.
Standing there, waiting quietly, was Denovon.
She froze, surprised.
She thought he had left.
But there he was — eyes calm, hands in his pockets — watching everything.
Emily walked closer to him.
"Mr. Denovon, you're still here?" she asked, her voice a bit shaky. "I thought you had left."
Denovon gave a small smile. "Yeah, I stayed to pick up one or two things."
Then he looked at her with a teasing glint in his eyes.
"It's good I did… I got to watch a good show," he added with a smirk.
Emily’s cheeks turned red instantly. She looked away, clearly embarrassed that he had seen everything.
Noticing her blush, Denovon didn’t say more. Instead, he stepped forward and gently took her hand — the one she used to slap Julie.
Emily was surprised and tried to pull her hand back.
"Stay still," Denovon said firmly, and Emily froze.
"Good," he said, then looked up at her.
"I just wanted to check if your hand got hurt when you slapped her. That was a strong slap."
He let go of her hand, gave her a calm look, and said,
"Stay safe."
Then, without another word, he walked away with steady steps.
Emily stood there for a moment, her heart beating fast, before slowly walking out of the mall too.
Emily got home feeling tired. Her feet were heavy, and her heart still hurt a little from everything at the mall. She dropped her bag on the couch, sat down, and let out a deep breath.
Then she picked up her phone and called Valentina.
"Hello?" Valentina's voice came through.
"Val, I'm sorry," Emily said softly. "I couldn’t get the things you asked me to buy."
"Why? What happened?" Valentina asked, surprised.
Emily took a short pause, then said, "I ran into them… Julie and Evelyn. They were at the mall."
There was silence for a second on the other end, then Valentina's voice rose. "You’re joking. What did they do? What did they say?"
