"Are you sure it's not because you spent all day yesterday looking after Victor? Maybe you're just exhausted because you didn't get any rest?" Felicity asked, her concern clear in her voice.

"No, that's not it either," he answered curtly, his patience wearing thin.

Felicity fell silent.

Sensing her discomfort, Julian finally looked up at her. "Why don't you head to the project site on your own? They need you there. I'll stay at the office today and handle a few things. I won't be able to join you."

Even if Felicity felt reluctant, she knew better than to show it in his office. She put on her most understanding smile. "Alright, don't worry about me. I can manage just fine on my own. After the morning meeting, take some time to rest in your office, okay? And if anything comes up, call me. Oh, there's something I forgot to mention…"

"What is it?" Julian asked, rubbing his tired eyes as he looked at her.

"Yesterday at the construction site, Winona smashed my phone," Felicity said, managing a rueful smile.

Julian stared at her in surprise. "Why?"

"Oh, who knows—plenty of reasons, I guess. You know how out of place she is there. She can't help with anything, and the other engineers just laugh at her. She probably lost her temper. Then Shera called for her, so I handed her my phone to take the call, and next thing I know, she's shattered it to pieces." Felicity shrugged.

Worried Julian might not believe her, she added, "A lot of people saw it—Zachary included. She just smashed the phone you gave me, the one that was supposed to be one-of-a-kind."

Julian had nothing to say.

Seeing he didn't respond, Felicity continued, "I'll let you get back to work. I'll head over to the site and keep an eye on things."

As she left the office, closing the door behind her, she clearly heard Julian making a call: "Legal? Come to my office. I need to amend my divorce agreement with my wife."

Felicity's hands clenched into tight fists. She bit down hard, jaw set.
