The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 393

Louis let out a terrified scream, his phone slipping from his trembling hand and clattering to the floor. “What… what do you people want?”

Noah shot a quick, wary glance at the men in black outside, his eyes darting with caution.

Seeing the car window smashed, the men grew even bolder. They reached in through the shattered glass, popped the door open, and brandished their batons as they advanced step by step toward the four kids.

Louis was shaking so badly he could barely stand. He wanted desperately to shield the boys, but he was hopelessly outmatched. There was no way he could fend off this gang.

One of the men, clearly their leader, stepped forward, glaring at the boys in the backseat. His voice was rough and menacing. “You’d better behave and come with us, or you’ll regret it.”

Ethan folded his arms and snorted. “And if we don’t?”

The leader sneered, his tone icy. “That’s not really your choice, is it?”

With that, he waved his hand, and several men lunged forward, reaching for the kids.

Realizing they were hopelessly outnumbered, Ethan quickly raised his hands in a placating gesture. “Hold on! Can’t we talk this out? I’ll go with you—no need for violence.”

The leader’s lips curled in a satisfied smile. “That’s better. Looks like you know what’s good for you.”

He turned his gaze to the other three boys. “What about the rest of you? Are you coming quietly, or do we have to do this the hard way?” As he spoke, he tapped a sharp-looking knife against his palm, his eyes glittering with threat.

Aiden blinked his big, innocent eyes and asked, “Are you here to kidnap us?”

The leader scoffed. “What do you think? You think I’m here to invite you little gentlemen out for tea?”

Aiden pouted. “You have to promise not to hurt us.”
