The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1845

Wyatt and Curtis exchanged puzzled glances at Mirabella's cryptic comment. They couldn't help but turn their attention back to her.

Mirabella flashed a reassuring smile and whispered, "Be ready to make a quick getaway."

Their eyes widened in surprise.

Without another word, Mirabella turned and headed into the mansion.

"Do as she says," James instructed, his gaze serious. He knew Mirabella wouldn't joke about something like this. After speaking to Wyatt and Curtis, he followed her inside.

Left behind, Wyatt and Curtis exchanged a look of understanding before quickly contacting their team outside. Even though they didn’t know the details, they trusted Mirabella completely.

Mirabella slipped into the mansion, not sparing a glance for the lavish decor. Under James's watchful eye, she quietly made her way to the back chambers.

The archaeology team was too busy snapping photos and doing their research to notice if anyone slipped away or joined them, so nobody realized someone was missing or had joined.

The mansion wasn’t particularly big, but it took Mirabella a few minutes to find the passage to the second floor. It wasn’t an old staircase but a hidden mechanical lift, kind of like a modern elevator, though tricky to operate.

This kind of mechanism might stump others, but Mirabella knew it like the back of her hand.

Soon, she reached out and turned an inconspicuous vase on a corner pillar halfway to the left.

The next moment, she felt a subtle tremor beneath her feet. It was the stuttering motion of a mechanism that hadn’t been used in ages.

Though the sensation faded quickly, it was noticeable.

"Did anyone else feel a tremor just now?" one of the surveyors in the archaeology team suddenly asked.

"Really? I didn’t notice anything," a colleague replied, focusing but feeling no vibrations. "Maybe you’re imagining things?"
