Tania told her. “I know you might feel sympathy for me, but I still want to express my thanks for helping me. Once I start earning money someday, I’ll pay you back!”

Instead, she said calmly, “Don’t get me wrong, I’m not helping you. We’re just getting what we need. It’s a fair deal.

You run errands for me, and I pay you. You don’t have to think of this as charity. After all, if I order takeout, I have to pay a delivery fee. Someone’s gotta earn that money, right?”
