Regina’s face turned dark as soon as she heard Gianna’s accusation. She frowned, her irritation rising.

“Cut off?” Gianna looked stunned.

“Didn’t you say this was the latest high–tech gadget? You said even the strongest jammers couldn’t touch it!”

This was her. first time using it, and it had already failed.

So what was all that pain for when she had the chip implanted? Had she suffered for nothing?

“In theory, it shouldn’t have been interfered with,” Regina said, frowning. “Even the most advanced government technology can’t easily jam or tap into this kind of device.

“But whatever the other side is using, it somehow managed to break through.”

“No,” Regina said sharply. “It won’t be jammed everywhere. As long as Amelia isn’t around, it’ll work fine.”

She didn’t want to say too much, so she tried to comfort Gianna instead.

“But I’m using it to deal with Amelia! If it doesn’t work when she’s around, what’s the point?” Gianna shouted, her voice trembling with frustration. Her ears were starting to sting again.

“It’s not useless,” Regina replied patiently. “It’s not a weapon meant to kill her. But if you wear it every day and need my help, I can guide you instantly.”

She still believed the chip communicator was worth keeping.

After all, it had been personally built by him—for Gianna. There was no way she could just toss it aside,

And the amount of money it had cost? Ordinary people couldn’t even imagine.

So whether it worked perfectly or not, Gianna had to keep it on. It was a gift from her father.

There was no way Regina would let Gianna waste that man’s effort–or his affection.

“I get it,” Gianna muttered, realizing it was pointless to argue.

The chip was already implanted. Taking it out now would only hurt her more.

“So what do we do now? Just let Amelia get away with it? I can’t stand that!”

“Don’t worry,” Regina said, her tone cold. “I won’t let her off the hook. And plenty of people are keeping an eye on her. Even if we don’t make a move, someone else will.”
