The Invisible Wife Turned Savage novel Chapter 203

Chapter 203 Unfit

“I just want to make up for what we missed,” Nathaniel said, clinging stubbornly to her hand. “We were married for three years, Estella. We never had romance, never had ceremony. I regret

that.”

Estella gave a short, sharp laugh. “You regret it, so I’m supposed to indulge you?”

He wouldn’t let her walk away. “Estella, just let me keep one memory.

Please.”

She tried to pull free then froze when he lifted his phone. On the screen was a photo of Victoria, asleep.

Her eyes snapped to his, blazing. “What are you trying to do?”

Nathaniel’s smile was deceptively gentle. “I sent someone to look after our mom. If you won’t take these wedding photos with me, I’ll have her transferred. After that, you’ll never find her again.”

Estella’s hands clenched into fists. At last, she ground out a furious agreement between her teeth.

His smile widened. “Estella, I want to respect you. I don’t want to keep threatening you like this. But you leave me no choice.”

She stood in silence, face like stone.

The photographer arrived. “Newlyweds, a little closer please.”

Nathaniel edged toward her, lifting his hand to her waist. She brushed him off, cold and unyielding.

He didn’t push it. He only smiled, content to stand at her side. To him, the moment itself felt intoxicating, as if they truly were a couple again.

“Miss, could you smile a bit?” the photographer urged cheerfully.

But Estella’s face stayed frozen, as expressionless as a marionette.

Nathaniel didn’t care. He was lost in his own fantasy of remarriage,

When the session ended, Estella rushed back to the dressing room, stripping out of the gown like it was something filthy clinging to her skin.

Nathaniel lingered, poring over the photos. In them, they stood side by side. Estella’s face was blank, but he still found himself smiling faintly. They had wedding photos now. That was

enough for him to dream.

When Estella emerged, changed and ready to leave, he called out to her. “Estella, don’t you

want to see them?”

Her laugh was cutting. “No. Enjoy them yourself.”

Two of his assistants blocked her path.

Jaw tight, she turned back.

Nathaniel held out his phone, showing her the pictures. “We do look good together, don’t we?”

Her eyes gleamed with contempt. “Good together? Nathaniel, you’ve rotted to the core. You could never match me.”

The words landed like a blade in his chest.

His voice rasped. “If it weren’t for Isabelle… would you still hate me this much?”

Estella’s tone stayed flat. “Even without Isabelle, you and I would never have lasted.”

She leveled her gaze at him. “Did you forget we came here once before? You had me try on a dress for Uncle Fei’s wedding. Naomi was there too. She teased that we’d never had a wedding, no photos. Asked if you’d give me one. Do you remember your answer?”

Her lips curled in scorn. “You said a woman who married you for money didn’t deserve it. Nathaniel — let me return your words. It’s not that I was unworthy. You’re the one who never

was.”

The memory cut him open. He had never felt such regret.

Estella’s eyes were cool, sharp with disdain. “And now? You expect me to sit here, pretending to admire pictures with you, Mr. Hartwell?”

Nathaniel slumped, all pride crushed.
