The Paper Wife’s Empire novel Chapter 31

Ramona understood perfectly well. She and Ethan had only met once before. There was no real bond between them. His actions now were simply a way of showing her respect in front of everyone. Still, she couldn’t help but feel touched.

Catching a glimpse of her reserved expression, Ethan’s mind drifted back to the previous night.

She’d messaged him out of the blue, and when he saw it, he honestly had no idea how to respond.

Ethan rarely interacted with women, and he had even less experience dealing with a potential fiancée.

He’d asked Ash for advice. Ash told him, “If a woman reaches out first, it usually means she’s saying she misses you.”

Ethan had always been a man of action. If she wanted to see him, then he’d see her. So, when work wrapped up, he booked the first flight to Corvonia Country.

Their quiet conversation now drew the attention of everyone within earshot. A few tables away, people leaned in, pretending not to listen, but curiosity flickered in every glance.

What exactly was going on between Ramona and Ethan? Did they have a secret relationship? No one had ever heard of Ethan getting close to any woman.

Finally, unable to hold back any longer, Solenne spoke up. “Mr. Jordon, do you know Ramona?”

Even as she asked, the tension in her voice betrayed her nerves. Ethan’s presence was overwhelming, but she simply couldn’t accept being left in the dark.

Two years ago, she’d caught a glimpse of Ethan from afar, and since then, no man had ever moved her heart.

She’d tried everything to get closer to the Jordon family. Even that time she fought with Ramona over a townhouse, it was only because the property faced Zion Plaza, where Ethan’s office was.
