Chapter 304 Stay Away I Mean It
The voices outside the door grew louder. Ginnie was leading Lucas over, and by the time they arrived, they caught the tail end of the chatter.
Her face wore an anxious look. “What could Sloane and Larry possibly be doing in there so late at night?” But the faint curve at the corner of her lips betrayed her inner glee.
She deliberately raised her voice so the reporters in the hallway could hear. “Gosh, don’t tell me Larry is doing something inappropriate to Sloane…” She cut herself off with a gasp. covering her mouth in feigned shock, though malice danced in her eyes.
Lucas shook off her hand coldly, his gaze sharp as a blade. “Shut your mouth!”
Ginnie froze, then quickly shifted into a pitiful expression. “I was only worried about Sloane…”
But Lucas had no time for her act. He turned to Andrew. “Seal off the area!”
With a sharp wave from Andrew, a dozen bodyguards rushed forward at once, forcing the crowd back. Reporters shrank under their glowering stares, too terrified to move.
Lucas kicked the door open. A heavy stench of blood rushed out.
Larry had fallen to the floor, blood dripping from the gash at his temple and soaking into the collar of his white shirt. He clutched a shard of glass in his hand, his palm torn and mangled, still battling the drug with the last shred of his reason.
When he saw Lucas rush in, he lifted his head with effort, his voice hoarse to the point of breaking. “Bathroom…”
Lucas’ expression iced over. He bolted toward the bathroom and pounded the door. “Sloane!”
There was no reply-only the faint, painful sound of sobbing.
He stepped back and drove his foot into the lock.
The door burst open.
Inside, Sloane was curled in the corner. Her gown was disheveled, her fair skin flushed an unnatural red. She was biting her lip so hard it bled, clinging to pain as her last anchor to sanity.
At the noise, she recoiled instinctively. Her trembling voice came out broken. “Don’t come any closer…”

*10 Fine Crims
Lucas chest tightened. He strode forward, but as he neared. Sloane suddenly slashed the fruit knife in her hand toward him.
“Stay away!” Her voice was raw and cracked, her bloodshot eyes wild, her whole body like a small animal on the verge of breaking.
Lucas was unprepared. He didn’t dodge in time; the blade grazed his temple, leaving a thin line of blood.
“Don’t come near me…” Sloane kept swinging the knife wildly, resisting anyone who tried to approach.
Lucas’ eyes fell on her leg, still bleeding from earlier wounds made worse by her frantic movements. His heart clenched; worry and anguish eclipsed the sting of his own injury. He lunged forward and seized the knife barehanded.
