The Real Heiress Rules the World (Sloane Rivers) novel Chapter 331

Chapter 331 Neural Magic Or Just Science

The crowd gasped in awe, the bionics mimicked even the fall of a single strand of hair with uncanny precision.

Just then, a stir spread from the back of the crowd.

Bonnie appeared, wearing her signature bronze mask, followed by two assistants pushing a cart stacked with medical supplies.

“Quite the spectacle, Dr. Rivers.” Her voice was hoarse. “But when it comes to medicine, skill speaks louder than show.” She deliberately raised her voice. “Or has the legendary craft of Medicine Valley sunk so low that it needs machines to carry it on?”

Sloane smiled. “You misunderstand, Dr. Bonnie. I’m here today for the free clinic.” She gestured for a bionic to hand her a golden needle. “I never agreed to any competition.”

A flicker of malice flashed in Bonnie’s eyes beneath the mask. She forced her anger down and said with false magnanimity, “In that case, why don’t we each treat patients and let the results speak for themselves?”

Sloane’s lips curved into a soft smile as her gaze drifted over the children waiting in line. “That suits me just fine.”

At her raised hand, the twelve bionics immediately dispersed, each taking its place before a consultation desk. What stunned the crowd most was how they adapted their approach to every child-

When facing a little boy afraid of injections, one bionic transformed its tongue depressor into a cartoon shape; when examining a girl with autism, its voice automatically shifted to the gentlest frequency; when soothing a crying infant, another released a faint, calming fragrance from its fingertips.

Bonnie’s face turned ashen. She yanked a small boy with a broken arm toward her. “Watch closely! This is real medicine!” She was about to display her so-called bone-setting miracle.

“Please wait.” Sloane’s voice rang out; the bionics instantly stepped in to block the way. “This child’s fracture is in a delicate spot; forcing the bone into place will damage the nerves.”

She crouched down to meet the boy’s tear-streaked face. “How about we try a new method, okay?” Pressing a button on her wristband, she summoned a bionic that morphed into a miniature orthopedic traction device, securing the injury with flawless precision.

“Here-nanotech bone-healing accelerant.” Sloane took a vial of shimmering blue serum from the bionic’s palm. “It won’t hurt; it feels cool, like ice cream.”

The boy’s sobs broke into a shaky laugh, and he obediently let her treat him. Three minutes later, as he raised his arm again under the gaze of the crowd, the square erupted in thunderous applause.

Bonnie’s nails dug deep into her palms. Suddenly, she pointed toward a frail girl in a wheelchair in the corner. “And what about her-the child with cerebral palsy? Can your machines fix that?”

The air went still. The girl’s parents gripped the handles of the wheelchair tight.

Sloane walked forward slowly and lowered herself to one knee. “Sweetheart, can you tell me your name?”

“My name is Natalia.” The girl’s words were slurred, her voice weak.
