Chapter 415 Lucas Has Murder Eyes

Charlie glanced at Sloane and the others who had just stepped out. Of course. Since Mr. Shawn can vouch for them, they’re free to go.

Shawn looked as if he wanted to say something, but one sharp glare from Kaizen shut him up.

We’re leaving,Kaizen said curtly, motioning for the others to follow.

As they brushed past each other, Charlie’s venomous gaze locked on Sloane. His eyes glimmered with a cold, calculating malice, the corner of his mouth twitching into a faint, sinister smile.

Lucas shifted instinctively, stepping between them in a smooth, silent move. His tall frame became an unyielding wall, shielding Sloane completely.

Their gazes met in the air, invisible sparks igniting between them.

Lucas’s expression hardened; his dark eyes turned razorsharp, brimming with a killing intent so fierce it seemed to slice through the air.

That lookcold and lethalwas like a blade aimed straight at the soul.

A chill shot up Charlie’s spine, his back drenched in cold sweat. Kaizen sensed the sudden tension and glanced back, but by then Lucas had already reined it in. His expression was calm again, detached as always. Even so, Charlie stood rooted to the spot, his face ashen, as if he’d glimpsed something truly terrifying.

Let’s go.Lucas naturally took Sloane’s hand, keeping her close as they walked toward the military vehicle without looking back.

Sloane could feel the strength in his grip, and knew he was still on guard. She gave his hand a light squeeze in return, a quiet gesture of reassurance.

It wasn’t until the convoy pulled away that Charlie finally snapped out of his daze. Only then did he notice his own hands trembling uncontrollably, the shirt beneath his suit soaked through with cold sweat.

Sir, are you all right?a nearby officer asked cautiously.

Charlie shoved the man’s hand away with a snarl. Find out who that man is! I want to know everything about him!

Inside the military jeep, Lucas’s gaze remained fixed on the disappearing police cars in the

rearview mirror, his expression still icy. You’ll pay for thisI’ll make sure of it.

Night cloaked the speeding military convoy as it raced back toward the Oliver Manor. General Nathan had dispatched an entire squad of special forces to escort them. Charlic, lacking concrete evidence, had escaped with nothing more than a verbal warning.

Inside the vehicle, Shawn sat clutching his freshly bandaged shoulder, eyes restless as he stared out the window at the blur of passing trees.

Sloane sat quietly beside Lucas, her face hidden in the shadows.

Dad,Shawn rasped, how’s Grandpa doing now?
