The Sleeper's Wrath and His Wife's Strike novel Chapter 100

She made no effort to hide the hatred in her eyes as she stared at Kris. Without saying a single word, she walked in and took a seat.

Kris merely glanced at Lindsay before continuing his lecture.

Before long, the class was over, and students began filing out of the room.

Lindsay strode up to Kris with purpose, her tone layered with meaning. “Long time no see.”

Kris eyed her warily, sizing her up from head to toe, a frown creasing his brow. “I’m sorry, have we met before? I could’ve sworn today’s the first time I’ve seen you.”

“That’s true, but your reputation precedes you, Mr. Carter. I came today just to sit in on your class,” Lindsay replied with a smile.

Kris relaxed, nodding with a polite smile. “I see. I’m glad to have your recognition.”

“Actually, there’s another reason I came today. I’d like to discuss a collaboration.”

“A collaboration?” Kris echoed, curiosity piqued.

“I want to invest in a film. You’d be the director, and I’ve already found the perfect lead actress. With you two working together, this project is guaranteed to be a hit.” Lindsay revealed her identity without hesitation. If she were just the orphaned daughter of the Nelson family, no one would pay her much mind.

But as Mrs. Lindsay Quigley, that was another matter entirely.

Kris felt a rush of excitement—but also a wave of confusion. Why would Mrs. Lindsay Quigley come to a university in person to scout a director? And how did she even know he’d be lecturing here today?

The whole thing seemed a little too coincidental.

Sensing his doubts, Lindsay clarified, “My husband sent me. He knew you’d be teaching here today. Other than your films, nothing else catches his eye. He holds your work in the highest regard.”

Receiving such high praise—especially from someone of her stature—left Kris buoyed with pride.
