The Sleeper's Wrath and His Wife's Strike novel Chapter 132

Alexia explained, “Charles was my brother. He used to be Yves' bodyguard, but he died protecting him.”

Zachary, who’d been completely impassive until now, snapped his gaze to her, eyes narrowing, a cold glint flickering in their depths.

So, she’s the sister of the man who was tortured to death? Why come forward and introduce herself now—what’s her real game?

Althea couldn’t guess Alexia’s motive either. She glanced at Zachary, searching his face for answers.

Catching Althea’s look, Zachary didn’t waste any time. “Let’s not play games,” he said bluntly. “We’re all smart people here. Why are you really here?”

Alexia gave a bright, almost cheerful smile. “Mr. Langley, I do love dealing with people who get straight to the point. Saves everyone so much time.”

Zachary’s voice was icy as he pressed, “The way you spat out Lindsay’s name, you clearly hate her as much as I do.”

Alexia’s gaze didn’t waver. “We share a common enemy.” Then she turned to Althea, extending her hand. “Care to join forces?”

Althea scoffed. With Zachary at her side, why would she team up with a girl who still looked like she belonged in high school? It was obvious who’d come out on the losing end—and she had no intention of making a bad deal.

She sneered, her tone dripping with contempt. “You’re quite the little schemer for someone your age. But you’ve got no backing, no resources. What could you possibly offer me? You’re not even fit to shine my shoes.”

Her words made Zachary burst out laughing. Part of him was genuinely curious—what did this slip of a girl think she could bring to the table? People only partnered up when they were equals.

Alexia didn’t lose her composure. She just smiled, calm and confident. “I can make you walk again. Is that enough to earn your attention?”
