“Quentin, go open the door,” Theresa spoke lazily, flicking her wrist as her water–based ability rippled into play.
Lucinda’s breath hitched again.
From a small pot of greenery, a handful of zombies clawed their way out. With another wave of Theresa’s hand, the ground sank beneath them, and the vines planted in the flowerbed shot out, wrapping the creatures tight.
Earth–based and plant–based ability!
A metallic dagger floated in the air, humming as if suspended by invisible strings. Theresa lifted her hand, and the dagger shot forward, striking straight into a zombie’s skull.
Lucinda, Patrick, Dorian, and even Hannah stared in shock.
Metal, wood, water, fire, earth–all five elements! She really has them all!
Theresa quirked a brow, looking at the group coolly. “Don’t forget what you said yesterday. You claimed if I had seven or eight abilities, you’d eat sh*t.”
That was her style–spiteful to the end. She wouldn’t leave without slapping their faces one last time.
Patrick, Dorian, Lucinda, Hannah, and the rest went pale, staring at Theresa in disbelief. Especially Lucinda and Patrick, who hadn’t believed her at all the day before. They thought she was bluffing. Now, the sting on their faces burned hotter than fire. Hannah’s regret churned in her chest as her stomach flipped.
Holy sh*t! She’s really formidable! Dorian’s eyes on Theresa were a storm of conflicting thoughts.

Quentin successfully opened the door. “Beautiful, we’re moving!”
“Help us!” The crowd scrambled toward them, shouting desperately. “Save us!”
However, Theresa didn’t spare them a glance, striding deeper inside.
“If you won’t save us, you’re not getting out either!” Patrick’s voice cracked with madness as he pulled a from his pocket, aimed it at her, and fired it with a bang.

If she didn’t save them, she would die with them. So what if she had abilities–he had a gun.

But the next moment left him shaken to his core. The bullet froze about 10 feet from Theresa, stopped by an invisible wall.
“With that little skill, you think you can threaten me?” Theresa stepped inside the building.
Zombies swarmed in from every direction, but none of them could cross the barrier surrounding her.
Patrick and the others stared from the pile of corpses behind her, eyes wide with disbelief. He fired again and again, emptying the magazine, but every bullet froze midair.
They remembered Hannah’s warning–that Theresa had abilities she didn’t even know how to define. She had seven or eight powers at least, not just the basics.
The gunfire drew even more zombies. Patrick’s men fell one by one, until only a handful of them remained.
