Danielle spoke up, her voice even and clear. “At the start, no one said this wager would be with AetherX Dynamics. If AetherX Dynamics loses, Ninesky gets fifty percent of their shares. To keep things fair, if Ninesky loses, not only does Newsworld get fifty percent, but the other fifty percent goes to AetherX Dynamics.”
Millie and Liam— even Mr. Keeley— stared at her in shock.
That was insane.
Who in their right mind would put their entire company on the line like that, right out in the open?
But Danielle knew exactly what she was doing. If she lost and gave up half of Ninesky, she’d already be done for. So why not put the rest on the table and try to win something back? If you’re going to gamble, you gamble all the way.
Alexander eyed her, his expression unreadable, brows drawn just slightly. “Are you sure?”
“What’s wrong, Mr. Davidson? Afraid to take the risk?”
Danielle was fearless when it came to making big decisions.
Alexander didn’t answer, just nodded quietly to the attorney at his side to draft an addendum to the contract.
Once the paperwork was done, the meeting adjourned.
Mr. Keeley’s face was a study in disbelief. He’d spent decades working in city government and had never seen any company sign a wager as reckless as this. He couldn’t decide if Danielle was a fearless upstart or just plain naive.
Everyone’s reactions were different, but Millie and Liam looked particularly shaken.
Afterward, Danielle headed to the restroom.
Millie followed, her heels clicking on the marble floor as she caught up and slowed to walk beside Danielle. “You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that.” She arched an eyebrow, her tone edged with scorn. “Didn’t Gian warn you what happens if you lose?”
“Alex only married you out of pity— because he’s merciful, and values innocence. Who could have known you’d turn out so greedy and ungrateful?”
Danielle’s words were soft but cut straight to the bone.
Millie’s expression darkened.
Danielle raised an eyebrow, delivering the final blow. “Well, I wish you two a lifetime of happiness. Hope you manage to get that wedding soon.”
With that, she turned and disappeared into a stall, leaving Millie standing speechless in the middle of the restroom.
Millie fumed, her face flushing with anger as she stomped her foot. Who did Danielle think she was? What right did she have to challenge her?
Grinding her teeth, Millie spun around— and found herself meeting the unreadable gaze of the man standing just behind her.

I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
