Millie paused, caught off guard.
Raffy broke the silence. “Lately, I feel like my grades are slipping. Sure, maybe I’ll have a comfortable life one day and grades won’t matter, but I still don’t want to fall behind everyone else.”
Especially not behind Monica.
He’d always come in first before, always left Monica far behind. Now, with Monica ahead of him, he couldn’t help feeling resentful.
And then there was his stepmother—she was probably thrilled about all this.
He was determined to make her regret not choosing him, regret taking Monica instead.
One day, he’d outshine Monica in every way.
Millie tried to comfort him. “I can help you study. With my help, you’ll definitely be better than Monica.”
She added, “And you can always ask your dad for help—he’s even better at this.” With a gentle smile, Millie led Raffy over to Alexander. “Isn’t that right, Dad?”
Raffy blinked up at his father, wide-eyed. “Really, Dad?”
Alexander looked down and smiled. “Your mom’s the real expert.”
Just then, Danielle and the others came offstage and caught the whole exchange.
Jarvis glanced over, then suddenly raised his voice. “Monica, your name and Rafferty’s are almost the same—are you two siblings?”
“If you are, why doesn’t Rafferty call your mom ‘Mom’?”
His question drew looks from both Millie and Leanne.
Danielle frowned slightly.
Niki, however, didn’t seem bothered at all. Without missing a beat, she offered a bright, sugary smile. “No, Rafferty and I aren’t siblings—it’s just a coincidence about the names.”
Her eyes crinkled as she spoke, cheerful and unbothered.
Jarvis still looked puzzled. “So what about your dad? Is his last name Davidson too?”
Niki pressed her lips together for a moment. “Mom says my dad’s been gone for a long time.”
Leanne gave a cold, mocking smile. “With Danielle’s brain, it’s no wonder she can’t raise a kid properly.”
Couldn’t keep a man, can’t be honest with her child, so she just told her the dad was dead.
How brainless.
Alexander didn’t respond. He simply turned and walked away. “The next round is starting.”
Millie quickly hurried after him with Raffy in tow.
Walking beside Alexander, she lowered her voice. “Alex, we really need to pay more attention to Raffy’s education. Talented kids need to be guided early on. Maybe you could ask around at the research institute, see if any professors or fellows would be willing to mentor Raffy, train him personally—he could take over for us one day.”
Alexander’s expression didn’t change; his pace never faltered.
He simply replied, calm and even, “Have you ever asked Raffy what he wants?”
Millie froze.
Raffy was still so young—he probably didn’t even know what he really liked yet.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
