Danielle hesitated for a moment.
She’d never really given any of this serious thought before.
Lately, life had just been far too hectic.
So she hadn’t bothered to dwell on anything about the Davidson family.
Gian’s brows furrowed slightly. “What do you think?”
Danielle’s mind was a mess.
Millie had crashed and burned, Alexander was fighting her for custody of their daughter, even going so far as to propose remarriage—just for the sake of custody.
She couldn’t make sense of any of it.
He’d been so infatuated with Millie, even willing to divorce her for Millie’s sake.
He’d never had a kind word for Niki, barely even acknowledged her.
Now, suddenly, everything was different.
A heaviness pressed down on Danielle’s heart.
The whole situation was growing more and more convoluted, harder and harder to predict.
“What about Nathan? Do you think he’s changed at all? Alexander gave you ten percent of the Davidson Group—do you think he’s setting you up for something?”
That ten-percent stake in the Davidson Group felt like a hot potato in Danielle’s hands—impossible to handle, impossible to let go.
A knock sounded at her office door.
“Ms. Crawford, there’s someone here to see you,” her assistant announced.
—
Danielle made her way to the conference room.
Nathan was waiting, dressed in a sharp black suit, looking calm and collected, an understated warmth in the air around him.
For a split second, Danielle thought she was looking at Alexander.
“Big brother?” she asked.
Nathan glanced up, a smile flickering in his eyes. “Surprised to see me here at your company?”
Nathan raised an eyebrow. “Do you think I’ve become the one in charge of the Davidson Group?”
Hadn’t he?
Danielle hadn’t kept up with the latest about the Davidson family.
She had no interest in getting tangled up with Alexander anymore—she thought the whole saga had finally ended.
“Mr. Davidson always seemed to favor you,” she replied politely.
To be honest, Danielle had no idea who Jake actually preferred.
But sitting here with Nathan, she chose her words carefully.
Nathan smiled at her response. “Who do you think is better suited to lead the Davidson Group, me or Alex?”
That question was a trap if Danielle had ever heard one.
She lowered her eyes, smoothing her expression into a polite, neutral smile. “Family matters aren’t really for me to comment on.”
With that single sentence, she put a little more distance between them.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
