“Oh? Is that so?”
Nathan let out a low chuckle, as if he’d just heard something amusing. “When The Davidson Group is facing a crisis, what difference does a woman really make?”
He stepped forward, closing the distance between them in an instant. The tension in the air was palpable, like the moment before a storm breaks.
Nathan dropped his voice, lacing his words with temptation. “Think about it. If you just say the word, all those stolen contracts? I can make sure Vanguard Technologies returns them, untouched. Hell, I’ll even make them pay compensation for The Davidson Group’s losses.”
“That way, not only do you stabilize the company, you get the perfect chance to expand into overseas markets. Isn’t that the best possible outcome for you?”
Alexander’s fingers idly rolled his cigarette, his touch colder than the paper itself.
He lifted his gaze to Nathan, his eyes unwavering. “And you think trading her for a little peace at The Davidson Group is worth it?”
“Isn’t it?” Nathan shot back. “The Davidson Group is your father’s life’s work. Are you really going to watch it crumble in your hands? Or do you honestly believe a woman is more important than the future of the Group?”
Alexander looked down, struck a match, and lit his cigarette. A curl of smoke drifted between them, veiling his face. “You’ve always been bold, Nathan. If you hate me, or hate the Davidsons, come at me directly.”
He took a slow drag, flicked the ash, and his tone was almost careless. “If you want those contracts that badly, I’d hand them over as your brother. No need for all these games.”
For a split second, Nathan’s smile faltered.
He couldn’t stand that nonchalance.
He’d always thought Alexander, like himself, put the company above everything. But now, he realized his gamble had paid off.
Danielle was Alexander’s weakness.
“So, you really are in deep, aren’t you?”
Nathan let out a scornful laugh. “Well, I’ll be watching. When the crisis hits, when every partner starts pulling out, the banks start calling in loans, and your employees start to panic, let’s see if you still talk this way.”

Sooooo complicated sigh* Simply pls thanks....
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
