Alexander turned to Nathan, his face unreadable, voice cool and flat. “No.”
Around them, several heads swiveled in their direction. Seeing Alexander brush Nathan off so coldly, people began murmuring to each other in hushed tones.
To any outsider watching, it was obvious: Alexander wanted nothing to do with his older brother, who’d just returned from abroad. There was none of the warmth or easy camaraderie one might expect between siblings.
Nathan’s smile faltered, just for a split second, before he let out a soft sigh, his tone laced with a wounded sort of patience. “Alex, you’re still upset with me, aren’t you? Honestly, you don’t have to be like this. I didn’t come back to fight you for The Davidson Group. Don’t let gossip and rumors come between us.”
On the surface, he sounded conciliatory, but his words carried an undercurrent—subtly painting Alexander as petty and insecure, afraid of losing his position.
Alexander studied Nathan’s carefully crafted expression, a faint, chilly smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. His eyes, however, remained ice-cold. “You’re joking, brother. The Davidson Group was always yours. What’s there to fight over?”
He paused, letting his gaze sweep over the curious onlookers. His voice was quiet, but every word cut through the chatter. “Everyone in the company has been waiting for you to come back and take over, but you refuse to step foot in the office. Instead, you joined Vanguard Technologies.”
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were deliberately leaving me to twist in the wind, letting the rumor mill chew me up while you sit back and reap the rewards.”
His words sent a ripple through the crowd. The murmurs grew louder.
People’s eyes shifted toward Nathan, their expressions shifting from sympathy to something more scrutinizing. Only moments ago, they’d thought Nathan was the wronged party; now, thanks to Alexander’s pointed remarks, they began to wonder if things were more complicated than they’d assumed.
Nathan’s face darkened. He hadn’t expected Alexander to call him out so bluntly in public, leaving him with no way to save face.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
