Chapter 812 Guess Who Got Played Again
No one owed anyone anything; Derrick just thought Marie had gone a little too far this time- Evie was in deep trouble because of her.
She’d dragged him right into Tempest’s mess… and that wasn’t something to take lightly.
“So, Evie wanted a sister–in–law that badly?”
Derrick honestly hadn’t known. Funny how it was always your opponents who knew you best. While the rest of them were still trying to piece things together, Marie seemed to know Evie like the back of her hand.
Especially that one line, “Do you want a sister–in–law or not?”
She’d nailed it, playing perfectly into Evie’s desperation to see his brother get married.
Marie snorted. “She’s so obsessed with having a sister–in–law it’s driving her crazy; saying she wants to marry one herself wouldn’t be an exaggeration.”
Derrick went silent.
Marie had been ecstatic after sweet–talking Evie into it over the phone just moments ago.
She hurried to call Stella. On the other end, Stella happened to be meeting with Melissa.
Yesterday, she’d been clung to by Eddie; today, Melissa had her in the same position.
At that moment, Melissa was clutching Stella’s legs, sobbing with snot and tears streaming down her face.
“I swear I didn’t send that pregnancy test! Please, don’t go after the Bogden family again; if you do, the whole family’s done for!”
Melissa had always been proud–someone like her lowering herself like this, begging outright, had once been unimaginable to Stella.
She awkwardly tried to pull her away, but Melissa wouldn’t budge.
“Stella, I was wrong before. Please, spare the Bogden family, I’m begging you!”
When someone who’d always been arrogant was suddenly crying at your feet, nose running and all…
What would you even feel? Goosebumps prickled all over Stella’s skin. “You—you should stand up first.”
And the way Melissa had called her Stella–that alone made her feel strange all over.
“I won’t,” Melissa said stubbornly. “If you don’t promise me, I’ll go back to the Bogden family today and they’ll beat me to death.”
Stella felt a headache coming on. “You-”
“I really didn’t send you that pregnancy test. I could never do something that disgusting”
Stella fell silent.
That pregnancy test again. She still couldn’t figure out who on earth had been bored enough to send something like that.
She looked down at Melissa. “It really wasn’t you?”
“I’m not even pregnant! Where would I get a test showing two lines? Steal one from a hospital?”
Stella froze. Well… that actually made sense.
Seriously, the whole thing was ridiculous.
“I didn’t even go after the Bogden family,” Stella said. “I told you I’d wait until things were clear.” But after she’d cooled down, she found herself trusting Abraham completely.
She believed he’d never do something like that behind her back.
So the pregnancy test didn’t matter anymore; she didn’t even want to investigate it.
But now, Melissa…
“You might not have done it, but Madam Evelyn did.”
At that, Melissa’s eyes welled up again. “The entire Bogden family’s been cursing me these days, but I didn’t do anything!”
She’d never been so wronged in her entire life, and she’d been living in misery ever since.
“Then I-” Stella started.
“I swear to God, I swear on my life, I never sent you that disgusting thing.”
“If I really did it, may lightning strike me dead–may I be torn apart so badly no one could ever piece me back together!”
Melissa was desperate to make Stella believe her.

In Falvaria, swearing oaths like that was taboo–especially if you were lying. No one would dare tempt fate like that.
Seeing how fierce and absolute Melissa’s oath was, Stella finally believed her.
“Alright. I believe you.”
