Lilith and Harlan were sitting together, a smug look crossing Harlan's face as he spotted Drusilla trailing behind Enoch. He was eagerly waiting for the drama to unfold.
He just never met such a cheeky woman like Drusilla.
The only reason Enoch married her was because old Wendell got confused and thought she was Odette. Yet, here she was, offending Lilith and acting like Enoch's treasure!
What a joke!
A divorcee, of all people. What charm could she possibly hold? Had Enoch not seen it all before? Why would he dote on her?
But Drusilla paid no mind to Harlan. She just followed Enoch and took her seat beside him.
Wendell was there too, his gaze on Drusilla still as kind as ever amid the sea of complex looks from everyone else. As Drusilla settled down, he eagerly passed her a bowl, "Odette, try this."
"Thank you." Drusilla took the soup he offered, sipping it gently.
Lilith, from her corner, watched with mixed feelings. She didn't appreciate seeing her great-grandfather charmed by this woman.
Ignoring Drusilla, she turned to Enoch and called out, "Uncle."
Enoch nodded in response, his gaze lingering on Drusilla.
Kendrick, sitting aside, turned to Enoch and asked, "How are you feeling, Enoch? Better, I hope?"
He had come specifically to check on Enoch after hearing about his discharge from the hospital.
"Thanks for asking, Kendrick. Feeling much better today," Enoch replied.
"That's good to hear," Kendrick said, his attention then shifting to Blythe, who hadn't touched her food. "Mom, aren't you eating?"
Enoch cast her mother a look, "Are you not feeling well?"
Blythe, with an undertone of meaning, replied, "Yes, I am feeling quite unwell."
