Enoch heard her words, glanced at her, and gave a half-smile, "What's with you? Got the sillies too? My head is killing me. Come over here and give it a rub."

He leaned back in his chair.

Drusilla, hearing the strain in his voice, walked over reluctantly and started massaging his head. Her expertise in herbalism gave her a good understanding of pressure points, so she knew exactly where to press when he complained of a headache.

After a few moments, Enoch felt a significant relief.

Just as Drusilla was about to step away, Enoch suddenly reached out to grab her hand.

Drusilla paused, looking at him, "Enoch?"

The usual charade they played in front of his family was one thing. But now, alone, did they still need to keep up appearances?

Enoch pulled her closer, asking her to sit beside him, "Don't worry about the family drama. Just focus on what you need to do. I've got your back. No one's going to mess with you, not on my watch."

Holding her hand in his, Drusilla could see the sincerity in his eyes. She realized he was genuinely trying to comfort her.

She responded, "I know. With you by my side, I've got nothing to worry about. Oh, by the way, Odette's mom called earlier, asking us to join them for dinner."

"Dinner?" Enoch chuckled, "Why would I break bread with such people?"

Drusilla and Odette weren't exactly sisters by blood. But Hestia was a different story; she was Odette's biological mother.

Enoch had no desire to even see her!

Drusilla reasoned, "Don't you want Odette back? She won't feel at ease about Odette returning until she sees us married, living together. Maybe we should go just to check in?"

"Alright." Enoch agreed immediately upon hearing her analysis.

"When are you free? How about this weekend?" Drusilla inquired.

"That works."

"Then let's go over in the evening. I'll let her know in advance," Drusilla suggested.

Enoch nodded, "Sure."
