She eyed Harlan, "You think you're in my league? Really? Does Lilith know about this little chat of ours? She's been targeting me for your sake, so let’s call her a loyal wife. And here you are, trying to sweet-talk me."
Harlan replied after listening to Lilith’s issue, "Lilith's just a naive little girl. I've always preferred you. If only you hadn't insisted on having those kids, we wouldn't be divorced now. Drusilla, you must know I still have feelings for you."
"Feelings?" She let out a bitter laugh.
He put her through this and yet he said he had feelings for her.
Drusilla laughed.
Hearing her mocking laughter, Harlan pressed on, "You think I'm lying? If you hadn't had the kids, we'd still be happy together. Wouldn't we?"
"Happy?" Drusilla shot back. "I don't think so. I've never regretted having our children. I'm grateful I divorced you. Staying with someone like you would've been my only regret. Just stop, Harlan. I can't stand the sight of you."
As she moved to enter the opening elevator, Harlan reached out, grabbing her arm to stop her, "Drusilla! I'm already doing this. What more do you want from me? Don't be ungrateful."
She glared at his grip on her, "What do you want, Harlan? Are you drunk and making a scene? If so, go back to Ms. Larkin! I don't have time for this."
Harlan looked at her, and his tone softened, "You still like me, admit it! Otherwise, you wouldn't have spent all these years pining over me. Just divorce Enoch, and we can fix everything. Can't we?"
Drusilla didn't even look at him. "I'm not divorcing Enoch." She claimed.
Not that she'd tell him if she was considering it!
