"Can't you just give me an acupuncture session instead?"
He looked at her, his voice softening, "Come on, don't be like that. You're getting more and more stubborn by the day!"
Oberon, standing off to the side, shot a glance at Mr. Taylor, thinking that it was actually him who spoils her rotten. Who else would dare to be this cheeky in front of him?
Drusilla cast a look at the two men, noticing Enoch's almost pleading expression. There was no pushing him away now.
She was planning to leave, to slip away without raising any suspicions.
Turning to Enoch, she said, "I need to go upstairs to grab something. Wait for me, okay?"
"No need. Let's just go over to your place." Enoch interjected.
Drusilla paused, then replied, "That won't work. My place isn't exactly welcoming to men."
"I'm your husband." he chuckled, amused at her refusal. He was offering to visit her place as a gesture of respect, and here she was, rejecting him!
How dare she!
Drusilla had her reasons for not wanting him over. Aside from Verena, almost no one visited her home, which was filled with her baby's things – something she definitely didn't want him to see.
"My place is a mess right now. I'd rather you didn't see it." she explained.
"I don't mind." Enoch insisted, determined to accompany her.
Left with no choice, Drusilla led Enoch upstairs. Upon reaching her apartment, she fumbled with her keys. Her reluctance was clear, but Enoch showed no signs of leaving.
Drusilla sighed inwardly and opened the door.
