Blythe glanced over at Verena, who, upon hearing Cormac's words, gently stroked his head, fearing he might say something amiss, and softly said, "Cormac, how about we head back home after we finish our meal, okay?"
Cormac pursed his lips, clearly not too pleased.
Blythe said, "Cormac, don’t you like me? I won't take you away. I just want to have a meal with you. Don’t overthink it, alright? Look, we’ve got so much good food here."
As she spoke, she served Cormac some food, and then did the same for Colton.
It was surprising how guarded the little guy was, as if he was scared she'd take them away.
Thinking this, Blythe felt somewhat helpless.
Verena, seeing Blythe give up on persuading her, also breathed a sigh of relief.
If it weren't for Cormac speaking up, she wouldn’t even know how to explain herself.

After they entered the private dining room, Drusilla also arrived. She had been waiting outside the restaurant, choosing an inconspicuous spot and ordered some snacks by herself, waiting for them there.
For some reason, she felt uneasy now that the two kids were with the Taylor family.
And of course, their dinner wasn’t going to be over quickly.
Around six, Drusilla’s phone rang. It was Enoch.
She quickly answered, “Hello?”
“Where are you?” The voice on the other end, Enoch’s, was quite magnetic.
Drusilla frowned upon hearing him. “I’m out.”
“Out where? Come back!” He was getting out of line. He had mentioned coming over tonight, and oh, she just decided to run off and hide!
“I’ve got something on, can’t make it back.”
“Get back here now!” Enoch demanded. “Or else, I’m docking your pay.”
