Verena was running around like a headless chicken, courtesy of her bosses at the company. As if that wasn't enough, she was stuck there with no escape in sight.
When she got the text from Drusilla, she suddenly remembered the kids were over at Blythe's place.
She texted back: [Drusilla, I ran into a bit of trouble on my way. Kids are with Blythe and Lilith.]
Under the streetlights, Drusilla's face went pale as she read the message.
Enoch had just gotten into the car, and through the car door, he noticed her expression darken.
For Drusilla, Verena's message was a blow. She had been on edge all day, worried something might happen to the kids.
And now...
They were indeed taken away.
She got into Enoch's car, sitting next to him, and said, "Let's head back!"
If Blythe had taken the kids, it meant they were at the Taylor family home. She needed to hurry back.
"What's up? Did something happen?" Enoch, noticing her anxious demeanor, asked, "Is it the kids?"
Her reaction wasn't something minor. Drusilla always prioritized her two kids above all else.
Hearing the mention of the kids, Drusilla glanced at Enoch.
"If it's about the kids, should I just take you there?" Enoch offered.
After all, the kids were the priority. It wasn't easy for her, a single mom, to handle everything on her own.
The acupuncture session could wait till tomorrow.
Drusilla shook her head. "No, it's nothing."
"Are you sure?" Enoch was skeptical.
He hadn't misread her earlier reaction.
Drusilla insisted, "Really, it's nothing."
She couldn't possibly tell him that the kids were his and that his mother had taken them back to the Taylor family home! Most likely, Blythe had taken them back to the Taylor family, and she wouldn't be at ease until she saw her kids.
Enoch, half-believing her, instructed the driver, "Let's go home."
