Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 19

Oberon had stepped out, leaving Drusilla in the room to start Enoch's acupuncture session for the day.

Just like the day before, the session went smoothly and was over quickly.

As she began packing up, Oberon returned with a freshly printed document in his hand. He handed it to Drusilla and said, "Here's our prenup. Take a look."

Drusilla glanced at it, then at Enoch, puzzled. "A prenup for marriage?"

Enoch replied, "Of course. Who knows if you might get too comfortable and refuse to leave my dear wife's spot in the future?"

Drusilla took the document and read it. The terms were strict.

For instance, in the event of a divorce, she would have no claim over the Taylor family's assets. It stated he was not obliged to share any wealth with her.

It also stipulated that during the marriage, she was responsible for finding Odette. If she failed, he was allowed to withdraw his promise and hold the Lawson family accountable.

Moreover, he reserved the right to end the marriage at any time, after which she could not pester him in any manner.

And she was not to interfere in his affairs in the name of marriage.

It was as if he was terrified of being stuck with Drusilla.

Drusilla was baffled looking at the prenup. "If you're so afraid of getting the short end of the stick, why bother getting married at all?"

Enoch, with an air of arrogance, retorted, "I've already explained my reasons. If your family hadn't been so unreliable, I wouldn't have to take such measures."

He acted as though he was the victim of some great injustice.

Drusilla sighed.
