Drusilla straightened herself out, stepping out of the restroom, ready to head back to the hospital room. Out of nowhere, a figure appeared beside her, grabbing her and dragging her into a stairwell!
Caught off guard, Drusilla stared at the man before her. "Harlan, have you lost your mind?"
Harlan, with a sneer, looked at her flushed face. "Really, Drusilla? You're just going to let everyone touch you?"
"What did you just say?" Drusilla couldn't believe her ears.
Harlan chuckled darkly. "Oh, holding hands with Enoch made you happy, didn’t it? You didn’t even try to pull away. Does that make you easy? Anyone can just touch you?"
Drusilla stared at him in disbelief. "What does me holding hands with Enoch have to do with you? Who do you think you are?"
Hadn't they defined what they were in these past years? And now he's picking a fight because she held someone else's hand?
Harlan retorted, "It has nothing to do with me. I'm just reminding you, even if Enoch’s in a wheelchair, he's out of your league! He only held your hand because the old man mistook you for Odette. Don’t tell me you actually think you’re Enoch's woman now?"
His contemptuous gaze made Drusilla laugh. "If someone like you can end up with Lilith, why can’t I marry Enoch? What’s wrong with that?"
"Do you actually want to marry Enoch?" Harlan was taken aback. He hadn't expected Drusilla to seriously consider it.
"If I want to marry him, what's it to you?" She and Enoch had even gotten a marriage certificate, albeit a fake one. So what?
Harlan said, "Go ahead, try and marry him. You think Enoch would want you? Does he know about your two kids? Does he know you’ve been divorced?"
"So what if I've been divorced? Who hasn't met a few jerks in their youth? And it’s not like you haven’t been divorced. Does Lilith know about your past, Harlan?" Drusilla eyed Harlan, sensing his tension and suddenly understanding something.
