Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 27

"Don't you dare!" Harlan scoffed, cutting Drusilla off before she could finish. "Can you have a shred of decency? All you want is money? Fine, I'll give it to you! Is that enough? Are we done here?"

As he spoke, he actually pulled out his wallet, extracted a handful of bills, and shoved them into her hand. "Don't make a fool of yourself in public."

Drusilla stared at the cash he pushed into her hands, probably around two hundred dollars. It was rare for people to carry cash these days, and she was surprised he had so much on him.

But was he really giving her money just to keep her away from Enoch?

It was almost laughable!

He was acting just like he used to, getting jealous whenever she talked to other guys. He could sulk all day long.

Back then, she cared for him, liked him even, so she'd keep her distance from other guys if it made him unhappy.

But Drusilla hadn't expected him to still be holding onto that grudge.

Now, his actions were just ridiculous!

Who did he think he was?

Did she look like his wife to him?

Drusilla was about to retort when her phone rang. She took it out and saw it was a call from Enoch.

Glancing at Harlan, she answered, "Mr. Taylor."

Harlan quieted down when she took the call, clearly not wanting anyone to know about his connection with Drusilla.

On the phone, Enoch's voice was deep and magnetic, "Where are you? You’ve been in the restroom for ages!"

Drusilla replied, "I'll be right there."

After hanging up, she looked at Harlan and tossed the cash at his face. "Keep your money. I don't need it."

With that, she walked out through the stairwell door.

Harlan watched her leave, gritting his teeth and kicking the wall nearby.
